An Unsuccessful Story

This post is about a person, a person who never succeeded in life.
Read the following to find out about him.

Jenson Caliente was born on January, 10, 1967 to a middle class family. His father worked at a nearby brewery and his mother died of miscarriage for their second child when Caliente was just ten years old. Neither the mother nor the child survived. Caliente completed his schooling as an average student. As his school was ending he also fell in love with a girl called Dina Burrows. As Jenson and Dina started going around Jenson failed to notice her decreasing interest in him. Until the day when Dina broke-off with him on the day just before school graduation.

On graduation day in school he watched as all the kids parents hugged and beamed at their wards graduating. Jenson's father hadn't made it to the graduation. He saw his ex excited and hardly in any kind of heart ache celebrating in the school grounds. Jenson just abot stopped himself from spilling his tears.

That day he vowed that he would make his luck himself. He could not afford college and his father was hardly concerned about his studies. Because of Dina neither did he have any best friends back in school. Jenson did not cry.

Then he began working as a mechanic in a near-by workshop. One day as he sharpened his tool on the grinder, the tool jerked off his grips and the sharp blade sliced off two of his fingers. He could no longer write or work as a mechanic. His father had grown older and was alienated from him. Last of what Jenson had heard was that he had married another woman and had other step-children. Jenson did not cry.

Jenson soon moved into the transportation business where with the right contacts he secured a good job and finally began earning and with no one to spend on he also started saving a lot. And in a few years he had began his very own transportation company.

Later into life, Jenson was shopping at a grocery store and he saw his father with his new wife with step-sons who could be his grandchildren. Then their eye's met, Jenson felt his heart would stop and then his father nonchalantly looked around, the truth hit Jenson- his father had not recognized him.

With all that he had he still did not have anything in life, Jenson bgan to know that and with increasing hatred towards his father. Why did he do this to him? Jenson finally cried.

Today Is Special

You people know I am really sweating it off at the gym for that ultimate physique I dream of, like a lot of other of my dreams. But the fact is I am sweating for this dream unlike for my other dreams (Ha-ha, did you catch the joke?). Anyways, sorry for that lousy crack it's just that I am on blogger at a time when I should really go to sleep. I was not able to catch my forty winks last night, maybe around 22 and a half winks (Ha-ha-ha, another one. I think i am in a rare form today!). I watched the movies Tropic Thunder and Memento. That apart it is winter in New Delhi so my body just wants to get inside that blanket for a deep slumber after a cup of tea. The fog is till low on the ground and it is zero visibility outside. I have no worries whatsoever and it is my semester holidays. And most of all I am sleepy, so while I hit the sack, you guys recover from this shocking post which ends as abruptly as I started it.

No Honking Day

For any of you guys out there who thought the people of Delhi had the habit of incessant honking embedded in their DNA, here is a news you may want to know.

January 1 is going to be observed as a No Honking Day in the capital. So maybe you guys in Delhi should give that horn a break. The government bus drivers, auto wallah's are all going to be given a detailed seminar informing them about the harmful side effects and the importance of No Honking in certain areas.

So the traffic police is out and out making Delhi much more suitable to the ears with the terms such as the hustle and bustle of Delhi getting very under-playing.

Apart from Honking Delhi also creates noise from highly harmful Himesh songs that play the minute some Haryanvi is in a good mood and crackers whenever the Indian cricket team wins a game.

No offense but for the average Delhiite the closer to a hospital- the more they honk. That is why it is important to educate and make them aware about the harm they cause to their own blood pressure and others too.

Perhaps the most common culprits are the Delhi Transport Corporation busses that have that booming honk which makes the passengers pee in their pants. No Honking Day? Please, it's a more than welcome initiative. Signing off, to a more peaceful Delhi.

Blogs of Note or Clods of Note?

I have always wondered how the Blogger team shortlists the 'blogs of note'. Do they have actual humans like you and me reading out post after post? If yes, those people can't be humans. In all fairness I find many of the Blogger blogs of note utterly boring and many of them containing clip after clip of meaningless pictures. Blogs should be fun and they should promote interactivity and not some guy bragging about the pictures he takes from his picturesque mansion or house or whatever. How long will we say 'ooh-aah' to these photos?

Another category which bores me in the blogs of note are the line after line description of one's kids, house and about the food items they know to make, Gawsh!
Blogs of Note should appeal to all and not just connoisseurs of blog who like heavy jargon's in the post they read. Blogger should make it sure that Blogs of Note are really something that people look forward to and not just another reel rolling by.

P.S.- This post is not to ask Blogger to make my blog a Blog of Note. My feet's are well on the ground. (:P)

Delhi's Aunty No. 1

The Aunty No. 1 holds Delhi’s top-job third time consecutively. Mrs. Sheila Dikshit continues to be the Chief Minister for the Indian capital New Delhi. She made pretty tough statements after Congress prevailed over BJP in New Delhi such as ‘Media found more issues than the opposing party,’ which is true. BJP became too dependent on the terror memorandum, but the citizens were wiser as they continued to ignore this promise, which they believed BJP could achieve no more than the Congress.

But the Delhi CM has been effective in previous tenures in ways such as increasing the green cover in Delhi. Delhi had 3% forest covers in 2000. Presently, the tree/forest cover is 20%. Times of India asked people about this fact and they agreed that Delhi was indeed green. She has brought in e-governance and introduced tax filing through the Internet and information about various schemes online but the only glitch is that they fail to be updated. But still they are informative.

A charter for the CM would include the following:

  • Continue to improve the green cover. Delhi is so large it could use a lot more green belts.

  • Provide housing facility to eliminate juggi’s i.e. slums still cover acres of land across land, introduce the free housing scheme.

  • Except for random checks on the power meters that people claim run very fast ever since the privatization of the power sector. The power bills still shock the people more than the constant blackouts in various parts of Delhi.

  • Presently, the traffic situation is very much out of control but it should correct itself slightly once the metro gets functional fully by 2010.

  • Please take out time and capital for the major overhaul of the PTS (Public Transport System). The senile DTC busses need to be scrapped, there maintenance is too high, and they run too slowly and guzzle a lot of fuel. In the long run, the Transport Corporation will benefit.

  • This one goes without saying, the security situation in Delhi needs to be notched up a level and it must be reviewed immediately as a priority.

Gym-Day

Right now even though I am sure no one is hardly caring for this blog. But, maybe someday someone may care about what I was doing as I posted on blogger. My semester holidays are underway presently and these days I am into fitness and every winter morning (Its winter in Delhi) I wake up by 7 and head for the gym. My pre-gym breakfast includes a bulls-eye egg and a glass of milk.

I am 19, my workout includes 15 minutes on the treadmill at high speed and then 20 minutes on the steppers- they are cardio machines that make your leg and hand move synchronously. This is what my instructor calls warm-up. Then once I begin dripping sweat by the gallon I head for the weights section of my gym. I do 20 reps of all the gym-machines there and end my gym routine for the day. I spend less time on the weights since I want to avoid brawn. Anyways, the muscle become too stiff, I heard they cause problems as you age.

Once I am back I head for a hot bath. Man, the hot water feels great on those exerted muscles then I sit for my post-gym breakfast inclusive of corn flakes, dosa, idly or maybe bread-jam and a cup of tea. The above food items are each eaten on a separate day- please don’t mistake for the thought that I eat all of them in one day’s breakfast.

I am six-feet and my motivation came from the fact that my lean physique was only holding fat on my stomach, the rest of my body was devoid of fat. I had to do something I was still so young- looking absurd. That’s why I signed up for the gym. It is helping and a lot. Personally, I feel much more energetic. I don’t head there for the fact that I want to be brawny- just for the broad shoulders and a good body shape with overall fitness. In college after a month when I return I want, at least my roommates to see the change in me. I hope they do!

Tom Hanks

I am a hardcore Tom Hanks fan thanks to his movie ‘Forrest Gump’, that’s the first time I watched Hanks. Then next movie I watched of his was ‘Catch Me If You Can’. After these two movies I was able to form the impression that Tom Hanks is a very serious actor and most of his movie end on a very sentimental note. When I ended watching ‘Saving Private Ryan’, the movie kept revolving around my head for the rest of the day. His acting has always been subtle and the characters he plays are intense people but very mellow on the outside much like Hanks himself. Tom has always acted according to the substance in the role.

One of his more powerful acting was in the movie ‘The Green Mile’. I was pleasantly surprised! Hanks played a jail officer, who heads a block of the prison. It’s a dirty job and for a man with a lot of spine. The way Tom acted out the role was just like he would have been if he really was the prison in-charge, with a lot of thoughtfulness and patience he lend the character a lot of respect. Again, ‘The Green Mile’ ended on a very heavy note that leaves you thinking. The whole movie, ‘The Green Mile’ is a flashback and concludes with the present much like the movie ‘Saving Private Ryan’.

Hanks is a very lovable person in a weird sort of way.
